Basic knowledge and maintenance precautions for hot water pipeline pumps

A hot water pipeline pump refers to a water pump that can be directly installed on the water pipeline, often using a centrifugal pump with flange connection to the pipeline.

 

It generally consists of a motor housing, motor stator, motor rotor, sealing sleeve, water pump housing, water pump impeller, end cover, motor shaft, filter, end cover groove, sealing rubber ring, and graphite bearing.

 

Its feature is that the sealing sleeve shields and separates the motor stator and motor rotor, and seals them with a sealing rubber ring. There is a filter inside the end cover, and there is an end cover groove on the end cover. The bearings are made of graphite oil sliding bearings, the water pump impeller is made of cast iron, and the motor housing is made of die cast aluminum alloy or cast iron material.

 

Product features:

Smooth operation: The absolute concentricity of the pump shaft and excellent dynamic and static balance of the impeller ensure smooth operation without any vibration.

 

No leakage: Hard alloy seals made of different materials ensure no leakage when transporting different media.

 

Low noise: The water pump supported by two low-noise bearings runs smoothly, with little noise except for the faint noise from the motor.

More space saving: The outlet can be arranged in three directions: left, right, and upward, making it easier to install pipelines and saving space.

 

Product Usage:

1. Widely applicable to: metallurgical, chemical, textile, papermaking, hotels and other boiler hot water pressurized circulation conveying and urban heating systems, ISWR type with a temperature T 120 .

 

2. For conveying liquids that do not contain solid particles, are corrosive, have a viscosity similar to water, and are suitable for departments such as petroleum, chemical, metallurgy, power, papermaking, food and pharmaceutical, and synthetic fibers. The operating temperature is -20 to+120 .

 

3. For transporting oil products such as gasoline, kerosene, diesel, or flammable and explosive liquids, the temperature of the medium being transported is -20 to+120 .

 

Working conditions:

1. The suction pressure is 1.6MPa, or the maximum working pressure of the pump system is 1.6MPa, that is, the pump suction pressure+pump head is 1.6MPa, and the pump static pressure test pressure is 2.5MPa. Please specify the system working pressure when ordering.

 

When the working pressure of the pump system is greater than 1.6MPa, it should be separately proposed during ordering, so that the overcurrent and connecting parts of the pump can be made of cast steel material during manufacturing.

 

2. The ambient temperature is less than 40 and the relative humidity is less than 95%.

 

3. The volume content of solid particles in the transported medium shall not exceed 0.1% of the unit volume, and the particle size shall be less than 0.2mm.

 

Attention: If the medium used contains small particles, please indicate when placing an order so that the manufacturer can use wear-resistant mechanical seals.

 

Starting and stopping:

Preparation before starting

1. Test whether the motor rotation is correct. From the top of the motor to the pump, it should rotate clockwise. The test time should be short to avoid dry wear of the mechanical seal.

 

2. Open the exhaust to fill the entire pump body with liquid, and close the exhaust valve when it is full.

 

3. Check if all parts are normal.

 

4. Manually rotate the pump to allow lubricant to enter the mechanical seal face.

 

5. High temperature type should be preheated first, with a heating rate of 50 /hour to ensure uniform heating of all parts.

 

Start:

1. Fully open the inlet valve.

 

2. Close the discharge pipeline valve.

 

3. Start the motor and observe if the pump is running correctly.

 

4. Adjust the opening of the outlet valve to the required operating conditions. If the user has a flow gauge or pressure gauge installed at the pump outlet, the pump should be operated at the designated point listed in the performance parameter table by adjusting the opening of the outlet valve.

 

If users install a flow meter or pressure gauge at the pump outlet, they should adjust the opening of the outlet valve to measure the motor current of the pump, so that the motor can operate within the rated current. Otherwise, it will cause the pump to operate under overload (i.e. high current operation) and cause the motor to burn out.

 

The precisely adjusted opening size of the outlet valve is related to small pipeline conditions.

 

5. When checking for shaft seal leakage, the mechanical seal leakage should be less than 3 drops per minute under normal circumstances.

 

6. Check that the temperature rise at the motor and bearings is 70 .

 

Parking:

1. For high-temperature models, cool down first, with a cooling rate of less than 10 /minute. Lower the temperature to below 80 before stopping.

 

2. Close the discharge pipeline valve.

 

3. Stop the motor.

 

4. Close the inlet valve.

 

5. If parked for a long time, the liquid inside the pump should be drained.

 

Maintenance during operation:

(1) The imported pipeline must be filled with liquid and the pump is prohibited from operating for a long time in a cavitation state.

 

(2) Regularly check the motor current value and do not exceed the motor rated current.

 

(3) After long-term operation of the pump, if mechanical wear increases the noise and vibration of the unit, it should be stopped for inspection. If necessary, vulnerable parts and bearings can be replaced. The overhaul period of the unit is generally one year.

 

Mechanical seal maintenance:

(1) Mechanical seal lubrication should be clean and free of solid particles.

 

(2) Mechanical seals are strictly prohibited from working under dry grinding conditions.

 

(3) Before starting, the pump (motor) should be turned a few times to avoid sudden starting that may cause the graphite ring to break and be damaged.

 

(4) The tolerance for sealing leakage is 3 drops per minute. Otherwise, it should be checked.
